The Twisted Story of a
Twisted Man
The buildings were standing side by
side,
With an alley between, not very wide.
There, on the edge of one of the roofs,
Two men were talking of theories and
proofs.
One said, "There's an updraft 'tween
this building and that,
And if you step off, you're not gonna
splat.
It'll catch you and lift you to the
roof of the other,
Safe as a baby in the arms of his mother."
The other man scoffed at this ridiculous
thought,
So the first man stepped off, for it
was his lot
To prove that his words were honest
and true.
Without touching ground, up quickly
he flew!
He landed on top of the building next
door
And yelled, "It's a rush! Like a bird
you will soar!"
The other man thought, but not very
long.
His own eyes had seen it. What could
go wrong?
He stepped off the edge and dropped
like a stone.
Hit the pavement below and broke every
bone!
The moral of this story is twisted and
bent --
Everyone has a dark side, even Clark
Kent!
